Publication Ethics

IJISTRA adheres to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) standards on publications ethics.

Below is a summary of our key expectations of authors, reviewers and editors.

  1. Authors’ responsibilities
  • Confirm that the submitted manuscript is not under consideration or accepted for publication elsewhere
  • Confirm that all the work in the submitted manuscript is original without plagiarism and data falsification
  • Ensure that the manuscript does not violate any copyright or intellectual property rights
  • Maintain accurate records of data associated with their submitted manuscript, and to supply or provide access to these data, on reasonable request
  • Notify the journal editor of a significant error in their publication and cooperate with the editor in regard to corrections thereof and in the events of retraction of the paper
  • Ensure that all authors have significantly contributed to the research in the case of multiple authorship
  1. Reviewers’ responsibilities
  • Contribute to the decision-making process, and to assist in improving the quality of the published paper by reviewing the manuscript objectively and thoroughly, in a timely manner.
  • Alert the editor of any published or submitted content that is substantially similar to the manuscript under review. 
  • Maintain the confidentiality of any information supplied by the editor or author and not retain or copy the manuscript.
  1. Editors’ responsibilities
  • Have complete responsibility and authority to reject or accept an article
  • Have no conflict of interest with respect to the rejected and accepted articles
  • Manage the double blind peer review process and preserve anonymity of authors and reviewers
  • Publish an erratum or corrigendum whenever necessary
  1. Procedure for unethical behaviour
  • The Editorial Board shall monitor and safeguard the above publication ethics.
  • Misconduct and unethical behavior may be identified and brought to the attention of the Editorial Board at any time, by anyone.
  • The Editorial Board shall deal with such allegations in a professional manner.
